FIBCO Family Services, Inc. announces grant from Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust

Phoenix, Arizona. (September 13, 2023) — FIBCO Family Services, Inc. is the recipient of a $100,000.00 grant from Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust as fiscal sponsor for Our Sister Our Brother (OSB) to establish a Family Resource Center in downtown Phoenix to meet the needs of underserved families in the Phoenix area.

The Family Resource Center will serve children and families of all ages and represent the culture of African American individuals through paintings, children’s books, murals, staff, and other representations of their culture. The Family Resource Center will enhance the capacities of underserved families, increase accessibility of preventative services, and supports, promote health and well-being in a space full of warmth, compassion, and love. It will be a safe, accessible place for families to find support, resources, and the healing necessary to flourish.

Establishing the Family Resource Center in Phoenix reflects a significant strategic partnership between two community organizations serving families in the Phoenix area, says Akilah Stewart, Executive Director FIBCO Family Services, Inc. Our Sister Our Brother is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was created to ensure families remain whole and healthy.
