Akilah Stewart Joins FIBCO Family Services as Executive Director

Phoenix, AZ - FIBCO Family Services is excited to announce the appointment of Akilah Stewart as the organization's new Executive Director. With over 15 years of experience in child welfare and social services, Stewart brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to her new role.

Stewart began her career with the Arizona Department of Child Safety in 2006 and worked her way up to become In-Home Program Manager. In this role, she oversaw a team of 76 employees and ensured the safety of families and children during investigations. She also co-chaired the African American Kids in Care Disparity group. Her experience and dedication have earned her a Certified Public Manager Program certification from Arizona State University and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion certificate from Cornell University.


Prior to joining FIBCO Family Services, Stewart served as Program Director for Our Sister Our Brother, where she was instrumental in program development and establishing the Lived Experience Experts group. Her passion for empowering individuals and improving communities makes her an ideal fit for FIBCO Family Services, an organization committed to providing education, housing, and community development services to families in need.
